IIAPS e-Learning Experience
Training in every activity and task in the 8-Step strategic sourcing process is provided on-line. This is based on the use of Theory Modules, Praxis Modules, Case Study Material, On-Line Reading material, as well as Animated Demonstration videos.
Theory Modules
There are 27 Theory Modules covering approximately 9 lecture hours on the theory behind world-class purchasing and supply management and the principles of category management and strategic sourcing.

Praxis Modules
31 Praxis Modules covering approximately 14 hours of avatar-based training videos are provided, covering all of the pre- and post-contractual activities and tasks in a world-class category management and strategic sourcing process. These videos provide a detailed practical grounding in how to take theory and apply it in practice, when managing particular categories of spend in the strategic sourcing process.

Case Study Material

Case study material is provided to allow the student to simulate a real world category management problem, and then by using their theoretical and practical learning, apply it in this case. The aim is for candidates to demonstrate (at the activity and task levels within the 8-Step Sourcematix® Simulation learning environment) their decisions, and then to justify them. All of the work of a candidate within the simulation environment is audited, and is used as the basis for final assessment and classification during qualification award. |
On-Line Reading Material

Within the Sourcematix® Simulation learning environment students are also provided with an on-line Theory Help functionality. This Theory Help provides access to an on-line textbook that explains in detail the theory behind every activity and task within the 8-Step strategic sourcing process. The Theory Help allows candidates to read more thoroughly about each of the activities and tasks that they have been exposed to in the Theory and Praxis modules. |
Animated Demonstrations

To assist candidates in familiarising themselves with how to use, and input data into, the Sourcematix® Simulation learning environment, Animated Demonstration videos are provided. These videos guide users through the functionality at each step of the Sourcematix® tool. |
